PLEDGE & MEMBER REQUIREMENTS

Deadline: Monday, February 5th, 2024

To pledge for membership, you must meet the following academic requirements
Completed:
     ● 45 credit hours
     ● Account 244, Account 249 or 250,  and Account 341 (Intermediate I)

Minimum GPA:
     ● 3.0 Cumulative
     ● 3.0 GPA in all Accounting courses
     ● 3.0 GPA in upper-level Accounting courses ( if only 341, must have B or better )


Professional and Service Participation Requirements

Current pledges must fulfill the following participation requirements this spring to be initiated in May:

  • Attend at least 7 of the 9 Accounting Student Org professional events, as specified here:

    • Must participate in February 8 Mock Interview Event – Note: This requires completing a mock interview at the event (pre-registration by Feb 2 necessary) as well as attending sessions during remainder of the event. 

    • Must attend April 4 Essential Skills “Movie” Night Event 

    • Must also attend at least 5 of these 7 Accounting Student Org Spring events: February 1, February 15, February 22, February 29, March 7, March 14, April 11 

  • Attend May 2 Spring Initiation and Recognition Ceremony (5-6:30 p.m.)

  • Participate in at least 2 of the following Chapter-sponsored service events: Explore Accounting Day (February 9), Speed Mentoring (as mentor, April 18 student org event), Junior Achievement (April 19), and Highway Cleanup/Campus Sustainability Event (date TBD) ​

 

Members who are already initiated must fulfill professional and service participation requirements (including current initiation events) to earn credit towards BAP graduation cords and stole as follows:

  • Cords: Fulfill current pledge professional and service participation requirements for any one semester following initiation before graduation (following that semester’s guidelines)

  • Stole: Fulfill current pledge professional and service participation requirements for all non-internship semesters (and at least 2 semesters) following initiation until graduation (following each semester’s requirements guidelines)
